We're back.....
We made it back to Hawaii! We got orders just a few weeks ago for Ted to spend his 2 weeks of annual training back at Tripler to help backfill the Radiology Department! We were all SUPER excited! Getting here was crazy as I rode the PMC just days before we left but we made it with a long list of must do’s before we leave!
We arrived Thursday afternoon and our first stop was the Kailua Farmer's Market for some pho from Pig and the Lady! And bonus we got to have dinner with Maria and her pooch Felicia! Brandi is on the mainland doing her fellowship so we didn't get to see her :(. It was a struggle staying awake but TOTALLY worth it! Made it back to Ford Island (where the USS Missouri is docked) for a great nights sleep at the Navy Lodge where we are staying while we are here.

G is about to pass out!

Home sweet home for a few weeks!
Friday Ted had to do some inprocessing so the boys and I hit the Navy Exchange to get some new bathing suits and the comissary to load up our fridge with essentials and our favorite hawaiian treats; POG juice, Uncles Ice Cream Sandwiches, mangos, dried coconut, the list goes on!
Since we are on a tight schedule this visit we picked up Ted and got another food spot checked off the list....Diamond Head Market and Cafe! Delicious plate lunch! And omg the treats in the market!! Ted was in heaven! Next stop the Hale Koa to check out the pool renovation which is soooo close to being done. Fingers crossed it finishes while we are here.

Kalbi plate lunch

The new pool at The Hale Koa. It looks done with water in it etc. We asked and they are just working through the punch list.
Last but certainly not least for Friday we headed to Kailua for swimming and pizza on the beach with the Goulds. We got to wrap up the evening with friends of theirs while the kids all played! It is so nice to be back here and have our Hawaii ohana to see and hang out with!
Saturday we hit the North Shore and went back to our favorite snorkle spot, Mokulēʻia Beach Park. I don't think we have ever seen so many honu (green sea turtles) there! It was a bittersweet day for me as that was a place we took Carter that he loved so I felt like I could see him everywhere.

Sunday was back to the North Shore for a polo match! Team Hawaii vs Team India! Just as fun as we had remembered it!

A quick stop on our way to the North Shore at the La’ie Sea Arch

Yesterday Ted had more in processing to do so the boys and I had a slow morning and then hit the Bishop Museum. They have an amazing lego exhibit right now. The Titanic had 200,000 lego pieces...WHAT?! And of course we had to do something on our list for dinner so we hit Japan Walk!

Today we are off to Kailua and Lanikai for the day! Hoping to hike the pill box, swim, have some island snow and knock at least one other food spot off our list...LOL!
Thank you for indulging a long post! As I have said before these posts are to share our travels and for us to remember our time on these islands! Aloha!
