Pipeline!

I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was check the World Surfing League (WSL) app. Pipemasters was ON!  I’ve become a bit of a surfing junkie...lol.  So I made the kids get up, get dressed, sunscreen and eat and we were out the door headed to the north shore!   We got there in time to watch the Brazilians go crazy over Gabriel Medina v Kelly Slater.  Pretty awesome to watch a surfing legend and the current #2.

Not a bad seat!

No words...

Next up John John Florence in the quarter finals. He grew up on the north shore and was ranked #1 in the world. He went to elementary school across the street from banzai pipeline.  It was super cute, a whole group of kids and teachers walked over from the school to cheer him on!  The boys and Ruby were instant John John fans!

John John!

Coming out of the barrel.

He won his quarter final heat and Gabriel Medina lost his which in turn made John John the world champion!  Pretty awesome to be there for that!   He ended up losing the Pipemasters in the last moments of the final heat which was a bummer but also some pretty amazing surfing.  Congrats Jeremy Flores!

Cousins!

A beautiful day on the north shore.

On our way home we stopped at Lanikea and there were 2 turtles sunbathing. See them behind G?!

Our last stop on the North Shore for gelato and Cholos already had congrats up.

When you get home after stopping for gelato, the commissary and the post office and you somehow still have north shore sand on you...lol!

We got home to a package from Mrs. Gould, Grayson was SUPER excited!!

Reading all his cards from his classmates.

Mrs. Gould sent a critter which G promptly named snakey and built a house for him!

Playing the game Mrs. Gould sent!

We are so grateful to both boys teachers for being so supportive of this adventure!  We have felt very connected to both classes!

We had a beautiful evening on the beach for Ruby’s last night.

What a wonderful day!   Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!  We miss all our friends and family during this time of year!  Aloha!
