Recap!

We had a visitor packed week!   Marisa arrived a week ago Friday while Carlos was still here and the Mocks returned from the big island on Sunday for a few more days on Oahu!  Carlos and Marisa headed off to Maui Monday and Tuesday for an action packed 36 hours.

Ted had his first weekend call on Marisa’s first weekend, he survived!   Friday night after we picked up Messi we headed downtown for the Honolulu Christmas lights parade.  Once we got there we realized that the parade/light kick off was actually on Saturday lol!  Since no one was there we actually got to check out all the displays!

Saturday morning Marisa and I checked on the Lanikai craft fair. It was amazing!!  We left with lots of goodies!!!   That afternoon we continued our brewery tour with Carlos and went to Grace and Growlers in Lanikai.  It was a super cool place with self serve beer taps!  They had beers from all over!

Tough choices for Carlos!

More games with Messi!

Ted was able to meet is for dinner at our first Shabu shabu experience.  It was super tasty!  We basically cooked all our meat in a variety of brothes filled with veggies and noodles!

Sunday we hit the farmers market and you guessed it...more breweries before headed to the Hale Koa for sunset and dinner.  We reunited with the Mocks there and Ted met us after work.

We also found a chocolate tasting spot!

Holy beer choices!

Sunset in Waikiki!

Ted was post call Monday so he got to spend the day with us!   We went on an adventure with the Mocks while Carlos and Marisa trekked off to Maui!   We hit the western tip of the north shore!  Turns out we needed a permit for our car to do the off roading part (don’t worry we applied for one and got it today!) so we turned around and headed back to mokuleia beach.  We had the whole place to ourselves, it was amazing!  We snorkeled and found turtles sleeping under the coral!  So we renamed it sleeping turtle beach!   That section of coast was also where a lot of filming was done for the tv show lost.  John was a big fan so we checked out a few spots.

Goof balls!

Sunset (the beach where the filmed the crash for lost)

Biggest goof ball!

The clouds were amazing!

Dinner at Cholos in Haleiwa

Tuesday it was back to Waikiki for more surfing with Al!   I attempted to just rent a board and surf on my own.  I wasn’t too successful lol.  Al felt sorry for me so he helped me catch a few waves!  All three boys loved surfing again and did really well!

Surfing is exhausting!  This kid NEVER naps!

Wednesday marked Carlos and the Mocks last day.  It turned out to be a beautiful day so we hung at the beach all day in Lanikai!

Marisa enjoying our new beach chairs!!

We were so sad to say goodbye to Carlos and the Mocks!   At least we had a few more days with Marisa!
