Moana

It only took 2 1/2 weeks here for us to watch Moana (not our first time) lol!   For anyone who hasn’t seen it I highly recommend it!



Ted is on call so the boys and I went to the farmers market for pho...so delicious.  And then home for a movie!



It was a beautiful day today!  We got school in in the morning then post our mid day beach visit.  The boys figured out they could make sand balls today and made a TON!


This is just the beginning!

Assuming Ted doesn’t have too crazy a night on call we are hoping to head to the north shore tomorrow when he finishes up in the morning as he will be post call and home.  

Off to finish watching Moana!

Twilight Zoo Tour

As we get closer to heading back to NH we are trying to check off what is left on our to do list.  This afternoon/early evening we headed to the Honolulu Zoo for a twilight tour. We had heard mixed reviews of the Zoo and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was and what a wonderful experience the guided tour was! We learned so much from our two guides, one of whom was an 11th grade volunteer!  He was a font of knowledge and at the end spent another 15 min with us showing us all the different skills in the education center.  Komodo Dragon Black Rhinoceros Meerkat Baboons Lions were super active! Zebras Giraffes Rainbow over the African savanah He was killing some bamboo! Tortoise! You can see diamond head in the background.  Just made me laugh!  And not at the Zoo...at a local restaurant!

Fabulous Friday!

Ted survived his first call!  We hit eggs ‘n things for a ridiculous breakfast before we hit the North Shore! I’ve turned into a person that takes pictures of her food...what?!  I should have taken the picture of nothing left on this plate while the rest of my family kept eating! Next stop Sunset Beach to check out the HIC Pro, the last qualifier for the Triple Crown of Surfing (starts mid November here on Oahu).  Turns out the waves were too crazy so the competition was off for the day.  It was still awesome to see the waves! Little surfer dudes! Next stop the Banzai Pipeline!  The whole beach was caution taped off and there was no one in the water! Next stop Shark Cove!  The craziest thing is that in the summer this is a protected, calm, snorkeling spot.   Last North Shore stop was Matsumoto’s for shave ice! Surfing!

We had the best time this morning learning how to surf!  We were in Waikiki bright and early (7:15 am!!) and met up with Al, Shelby and Pui from Alysha Surf School who were amazing!   They were so patient with all of us!  After a few minutes on the shore learning we headed off to the water.  Each of us rode the first wave we tried!!  I went last and was sure I was going to fall since the other 3 had done so well lol!  Al taught us what to look for in a wave and got us each set up for several.  The cutest was when he put G and F on a wave at the same time!   Ted and I rode our last wave together, I was sure we were going to crash into each other but we didn’t....phew!
